Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how music moment ("we", "our" or "us") handles personal information when you use the music moment apps for iOS and Android and our websites, including musicmoment.app, open.musicmoment.app and www.musicmoment.com (together, the "Service"). It applies to members, to guests who try the app before creating an account, and to visitors to our websites. Summary


What we collect	Your account and profile details, the songs, comments and notes you share, your activity (likes, passes, follows and plays), and device and analytics data
What is public	Your profile and posts, in the app and on the web. Search engines may index your profile page.
What we don't collect	Precise location, contacts, advertising identifiers in our apps, or payment details
Advertising	We do not sell personal information, show ads, or send advertising messages
Who helps us	Google (Firebase, Google Cloud and Google Workspace), Apple, Algolia and Postmark (Sections 7 and 8)
How long we keep it	Generally, while your account is active, and for 1 year after you deactivate it. After that, we keep it only in pseudonymized form, for statistics and research, for up to 10 years (Section 15).
Deleting your account	You can deactivate your account in the app's settings. See Section 16.4 for what happens, and Section 15 for what we keep.

1. Information we collect

1.1 Before you create an account (guest use)

A temporary anonymous identifier, created for your app when you start trying the app.
The genres you choose, and the songs you like or pass while trying the app. These are stored on your device, not in an account, until you create an account, and your likes and passes are also recorded in analytics as you make them (Section 10). When you create an account, they are added to it: songs you liked become likes, and the members who shared them are notified.
The description of your music taste that the app shows you at the end of the trial.
Views of the songs you see (we count views on posts).
App usage data for analytics (Section 10).

1.2 Account and profile

1.3 Content you share

Posts: the YouTube video you choose and basic information about it from YouTube (such as its title, thumbnail, category, view count and publish date at the time you post), the section you select, the song title and artist, the genre and whether it was chosen by you, by our AI service or by our staff, your optional comment, and a short link to the post. Your birth decade and region are also stored with each post you share, for statistics. Our staff may correct the song title, artist, genre or comment of a post, for example to fix wrong song information or to remove content that breaks our rules.
Visitor notes and replies, which can be linked to a post.
Folders you sort your posts or liked songs into.

1.4 Your activity

Likes, including likes added from guest use, and songs you remove from your Liked Songs list.
The genres of posts you have liked, and the artists of songs you have shared.
